Bingo is an easy game

July 1st, 2009 by admin

Bingo is an easy game. The fact that it requires minimal skill leaves time and energy for socializing and making friends. Senior citizens flock to bingo games. A recent Bingo Jamboree at the Savannah Civic Centre drew over 700 people for an all day gaming session. Not all bingo enthusiasts are elderly. A popular spot for playing the game is the North Iowa Fairgrounds at Mason City, where an increase in younger players has been noticed. The rules are easy enough for kids to learn, which makes it an ideal family activity. Part of the bingo experience is to share a meal and drinks or snacks. And, of course, chatting and visiting. Online bingo also offers the chance to socialize. Once seen as a solitary activity, online bingo games incorporate chat rooms, forums and even webcams into the game. The online bingo website has become a means of meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends, serving many of the same functions as a bingo hall. Thus, technology has revolutionized the popular old game.

Sweet Dreams on a New Mattress

April 2nd, 2009 by admin

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you needed a new mattress until you actually buy one and start using it. My mattress was over 20 years old when I decided it was time to upgrade. There wasn’t anything overtly wrong with the old bed; it didn’t sag in the middle and there were no lumps. I just thought it was time to treat myself to a better night’s sleep.

I found out early in my shopping that not all mattresses are created equal. I also found out that it’s virtually impossible to comparison shop for mattresses, since every store seems to have the same basic product, only with a different name. I learned very quickly about coil counts and wire gauge, but trying to compare them too, was difficult.

A mattress with more and thicker coils usually indicated more and better support, but it was also possible that those coils were made out of thinner wire, which could negate the effect of the number of coils … so what’s a shopper to do??? I finally decided to buy a mattress based on comfort. After all, I’m the one going to sleep on it, so if it felt good to me, that was all that mattered.

After comparing Sealy beds, Serta, Simmons, King Koil and several store brands, I bought a Sealy Posture Premier from a regional mattress chain in my area. This particular mattress was firm, but still plush enough to feel cozy. It was a good price (about $500) and for those who want to know specifications, the coil count was 420 and the gauge was 12 ¾ for the queen size. The store hauled away my old mattress and helped me assemble my “new” bed. So now, thanks to a new mattress, my dreams are so much sweeter!

Will Obama save Online Gambling?

April 2nd, 2009 by admin

Will Obama help save online gambling? President Obama has promised on his change.gov website that he will work to “ensure the full and free exchange of ideas through an open Internet” but what does that mean for online gambling businesses? Having used billboards in online casinos during his campaign and being one of the top ten Senate recipients of gaming company campaign donations, one might assume the president includes these casino in his “free exchange” statement but will he turn his back to online gaming and continue to support the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which prohibits such activities in the US and forces banks to be the gambling police? Looking at his past voting record may not bring much hope. Obama has voted against dockside riverboat casinos and has said publicly that the “moral and social cost of gambling is devastating” and that using gaming as a means of revenue or economic growth would be “irresponsible.” However when directly questioned further about his policies on online gaming the president has been largely non committal in his comments.

Democrats have been the supporters of anti UIGEA legislation in the past and many would argue that in a democratic society, one that wishes for a more open exchange of ideas and activities via the Internet, that online gaming should be legal. But so far, Obama, an admitted poker player, is playing his cards close to the vest on this topic. We shall have to see how this hand plays out.

Mattress Shopping made easy

April 2nd, 2009 by admin

My husband and I have recently been mattress shopping. We actually went into mattress stores and would spend at least two hours a day there on the weekend. During the week I would compose a list of eight beds that we were to try out. We would then go to the mattress store and spend thirty minutes lying on each mattress.

After much debate, bed testing and seemingly hundreds of mattress stores, this made the decision a lot easier since we weren’t buying based on the advice of someone trying to make commission. The top choices were the sleep number bed and the foam mattress bed. But the sleep number didn’t live up to the hype. So we’ve decided to go with a foam mattress. Or at the very least we are waiting for the test delivery of our mattress. Through research we found out the denser the top the better. We decided to go with a temperpedic and if we want to keep it, it will be about $1200.00 With all the testing that I’ve done in the stores I would recommend it to others.

College Betting and Winning

April 2nd, 2009 by admin

Gambling, though traditionally looked upon as a vice, is one of the oldest forms of entertainment in the world. As a freshman in college, I had a good friend named Josh, who was at my university through scholarships and financial aid programs. He was as crafty as they come, and was always looking for new ways to make money.

He revealed to me one day that he made most of his spare cash betting through a bookie on college basketball! All day long he would read stats and watch game highlights and recaps to get a feel of which teams and players were performing best, and almost every night he would be plopped on his couch, phone in hand, shouting at his TV screen.

While it might seem like a great way to waste his money, I watched my friend make over $4,500 in a single semester placing bets and reaping the rewards; A sum that payed for his following semester at school! Though there are clearly risks in doing so, betting on sports games can be one of the fastest and most exciting ways to earn extra cash without working an extra job.
